“Mightier than the waves of the sea is His love for you.”
Sapele has a ribbon grain that catches light differently depending on the angle — when this piece came off the machine, a natural grain line ran straight through the carved wave like a horizon line on the water. That wasn’t planned. It’s the kind of thing that only happens in wood, and it’s the reason no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
The scripture carves deep into the wave face, the text rising out of the water. A customer commission that ended up being one of our favorites to date.
