This piece carries more history than most. The wood came from an old church pew — salvaged when the congregation was preparing to move into a new sanctuary. Rather than see it discarded, we milled it down and carved this image of Jesus and the Lion directly from the lumber the congregation had prayed over for decades. Crown of thorns, grapevines, the lion resting at His side. When it was finished, it was donated back to the church and it will hang in their new sanctuary.
White oak. No commission. Just the right thing to do with wood that deserved better than a dumpster.
